Re: Dun Laoghaire Sunrise

I'm glad your early morning wake-up call was rewarded with such a beautiful scene Rod!. The deep, dark, red-orange colors are gorgeous. And I like the composition with those land masses placed where they are. Nice and sharp, especially on those circular jetties extending into the water. Do you remem...

Re: Sensor cleaning

Thanks for those details Rod. I did the white paper test suggested in the YouTube video. It was interesting not only for the dust that was revealed, (mostly along the edges), but it was interesting that the dust is more prominent when using longer focal length lenses. I tested the 24-70, 70-200, a n...

Re: Sensor cleaning

Ok. Which exact kit did you get? He mentions a couple. Did you clean your D750, and did you have to watch the size of the swap stick

Re: Dana Point Sunset

Thanks everyone.
I didn’t have any filters or a tripod for a smooth water type image. I propped the camera on some rocks and kept my fingers crossed it would be steady enough.

Re: Sensor cleaning

Thanks guys. That video Rod was helplful too...I liked his "test" of shooting a white piece of paper and then reversing the black/white in Lightroom to really see the dust!

Dana Point Sunset

Southern California coast in October, 2017. I kind of like the balance of the rock masses, lower left foreground against the upper right bluff. CC welcome!
(If you look closely, you might see a surfer in the water enjoying the sunset too)

Sensor cleaning

I have noticed dust showing up on images. A lot, even after using a rocket blower on the inside cavity of my cameras (Mirror up). I also ran the self cleaning routine on the camera’s menu. Both the D750 and D500. I think I need a full sensor cleaning. I’ve never done this before and am nervous about...
