Re: Woodland Walk

Hi David I like the variations in light in both. I especially like the light on the purple flower, highlighting it against the background. This is my fav of the two For me, the tree trunk running across the vertical trunks is more distracting. But that’s just me. Great job capturing mood and light i...

Planes of Fame airshow

I went to the "Planes of Fame" airshow in Chino, California this past weekend. It was so cool to see all these great machines up close, and also flying. I took several close-ups of the parked planes (mostly with the 16-35mm lens), and also lots of continuous shooting, panning shots of the planes fly...

Re: Newcastle Quayside...

Such a pretty skyline, Matt. Great job capturing all the structure and colors. I like the arch shot the best just because of that graceful curve and its reflection, but I really like them all!

House Finch's Great Escape

Quickly snapped this red (male) House Finch, a common native bird in the southern California lowlands. Some kind of jailbird sub-species, making its move and waiting for Steve McQueen to show up on his motorcycle...

Egret vs. Lizard

Well, it was a good day for this Egret, not good for the lizard. I'm glad I hung around to watch the Egret as it took its time to pounce. The Egret faced away right after catching this guy so not the best perspective or sunlight for that matter.
