External Storage

Post by Roderick » Tue Jun 20, 2017 2:52 pm

I replaced my slow external HD mirror enclosure with this one.
It has 2 x 2TB 3 1/2 inch drives which are mirrored for drive failure tolerance.
It has an external PSU.
Its USB 3 so I can now edit pictures on the StarTech box without moving them back and forth from the laptop.
Its Chinese and fairly cheap without disks. Other makes are available and some will take the 2 1/2 inch laptop disks.
Be advised to update the firmware if you intend to fit disks above 1TB in size

That looks interesting!
My old 2 drive nas unit blew up, and it was slow as molasses when it did work.
This might be something to look into.

It is all about the light and your ability to sculpt it!
Equipment is just a secondary nuisance (but I wants it all, my precious.)

I just use 2 x 3TB external HD's.

I save all my files to one of them and I have a program on my iMac that clones that information to the second one.

Dead easy setup IMO
