The view from Dalkey island.

Post by Roderick » Thu Sep 20, 2018 12:38 pm

1/400th, f8, ISO 100, 95mm
Looking south-southwest so shooting somewhat into the sun.
I wasn't interested in the detail along the coastal strip so I left it under exposed.
The little markon the hill is the Ballycorus chimney. Included is a closer shot taken in September last year.
All CC welcomed.

That is a really nice deep image Rod, It kinda draws the viewer in, from the variation of light on the surface of the water through the god rays and into the variety of levels in the clouds... works for me.. (-:

Thanks for posting the B&W for comparison Rod. I prefer the colour version, the B&W seems not to handle both ends of the dynamic range to the same degree, though that could just be down to my eyesight... Nice location captured in interesting light..

Really nice shot. I slightly prefer white B&W as it brings out the light a bit better IMO.
